Naissan O. WesleyNaissan O. Wesley, M.D. is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and fellowship-trained Dermatologic Surgeon.

With expertise in General Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Mohs Micrographic and Laser surgery, she has authored over 20 medical journal articles and textbook publications, lectured nationwide, and has been quoted in the New York Times, SanDiego Tribune, and Dermatology World. She has participated in numerous research studies that have contributed to many cutting-edge procedures performed today in cosmetic and procedural dermatology.

As a Mohs surgeon, Dr. Wesley completed an intense post-doctoral fellowship approved by the American College of Mohs Surgery. She is an expert in all aspects of skin cancer and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Wesley specializes in the diagnosis and repair of skin lesions, including cosmetic reconstruction following skin cancer removal, skin grafts, and skin flaps.

In addition to Mohs surgery, Dr. Wesley has expertise in all aspects of laser procedures, injections of Botox and fillers, chemical peels, and sclerotherapy. With regard to cosmetic procedures, Dr. Wesley’s philosophy is that patients should look natural, revived and refreshed, and not as though they’ve had “something done”

Dr. Wesley is also a leading expert in the treatment of darker skin types with publications in the Textbook of Cosmetic Dermatology, Handbook of Cosmetic Science and Technology, and American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, among others. She is the invited Guest Editor of the first “Skin of Color” issue of Seminars of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Wesley graduated magna cum laude with high honors in biology and art history from the University of California at Los Angeles. As one of the top college graduates in the nation, she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Graduating in the top of her medical school class at University of California San Francisco (UCSF), she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. At UCSF, she was also the recipient of the prestigious Martin Luther King, Jr. Award (awarded to only one student annually among all graduate schools) and the National Medical Association’s Emerging Scholar Award. Dr. Wesley performed her internship in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a residency in Dermatology at UCSF. She completed a much sought after Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Laser, Cosmetic, and Surgical Dermatology Fellowship in Boston where she was trained by dermatologic surgeons from Harvard, Yale, and Boston University, all internationally recognized for their contributions to the field of dermatology.
