Board-certified in dermatology, Dr. Jones completed his dermatology Residency in 1997 at Columbia University in New York, where he served as Chief Resident. In 1999 he founded Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills where he is the Director. Dr. Jones was Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California in Los Angeles from 1999 to 2017 and is an internationally regarded key opinion leader and researcher in minimally invasive facial aesthetics. He is a frequently invited speaker at prestigious dermatology meetings and has delivered over 300 scholarly lectures.

Dr. Jones is a world-renowned aesthetic dermatologist and widely published author with over 100 publications in peer-reviewed leading medical journals. He has written several textbook chapters and is editor of the acclaimed textbook Injectable Fillers: Principles and Practice (Wiley-Blackwell) and the forthcoming textbook Injectable Fillers: Facial Contouring and Shaping. Dr. Jones has also served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine, and Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy. He is regularly featured as a dermatology expert on several local and national television networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and Lifetime, and has appeared in interviews in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, InStyle, Harpers Bazzar, The Wall Street Journal, New Beauty, Refinery 29, Vogue, and Hollywood Reporter.

Dr. Jones is regarded as a keen expert in the diagnosis and treatment of all skin disorders. As an artist and a scientist, Dr. Jones is highly sought after for his aesthetic skill and ability to rejuvenate faces with a combination of injectable wrinkle fillers, BOTOX®, and lasers. Using The Derek Jones Facial Harmonics approach, Dr. Jones is able to create extraordinarily natural results that do not appear "overdone". He was also Lead Investigator on the FDA study for Kybella and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA. His current FDA research focuses on minimally invasive injectables that naturally sculpt and contour the face, which atrophies with age. Dr. Jones is on the board of directors for ASDS, is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery; and serves on the Postgraduate Education Committees for both. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with high honors from Tufts University and his Doctorate of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine.

Meet Naissan O. Wesley, M.D., F.A.C.M.S.

Naissan O. Wesley is a world-renowned aesthetic and surgical dermatologist and widely published author with more than 20 honors and awards and more than 30 medical journal articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks already in her career. She has had publications on BOTOX®, fillers, laser resurfacing, reconstructive surgery, ethnic skin, beauty, cosmeceuticals, and stretch marks, among others. Notably, Dr. Wesley wrote the chapter on "Beauty and the Aging Face" for Dermatology, the prominent textbook that other dermatologists learn from.

With expertise in General Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Mohs Micrographic and Laser surgery, she has authored over 20 medical journal articles and textbook publications, lectured nationwide, and has been quoted in the New York Times, SanDiego Tribune, and Dermatology World. She has participated in numerous research studies that have contributed to many cutting-edge procedures performed today in cosmetic and procedural dermatology.

Dr. Wesley is board certified in dermatology and fellowship trained in cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic (Mohs) surgery. She finished at the top of her class at all levels of her education, graduating magna cum laude with high honors in biology and art history from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). As one of the top college graduates in the nation, she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Graduating in the top of her medical school class at University of California San Francisco (UCSF), she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. At UCSF, she was also the recipient of the prestigious Martin Luther King, Jr. Award (given to only one student annually among all graduate schools) and the National Medical Association's Emerging Scholar Award.

Dr. Wesley performed her internship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a residency in dermatology at UCSF. She completed a much sought after cosmetic, laser, Mohs surgery, and surgical dermatology fellowship in Boston, where she was trained by those regarded as the best dermatologic surgeons from Harvard, Yale, and Boston University, all internationally recognized for their contributions to the field of dermatology.

She was involved in the clinical trials that led to the approval of Juvéderm Voluma®, Kybella®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau, and CoolSculpting®. She has also been involved in numerous other clinical trials for Thermage®, Velashape®, miraDry®, Artefill®, Noveon®, as well as other injectable substances and lasers aimed at targeting cosmetic concerns such as facial wrinkles, skin tightening, fat reduction, hair removal, laser treatment of nail fungus, excessive sweating, and cellulite. Dr. Wesley is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Physicians for Social Responsibility.

As a Clinical Instructor at UCLA, Dr. Wesley gives her time at UCLA and the Veterans Hospital monthly performing surgeries and teaching dermatology residents and fellows. Working with UCLA Children's Hospital, Skid Row homeless organizations, and organizations helping children, animals, the environment, and social responsibility, Dr. Wesley feels it is important to give back to the world. Dr. Wesley is dedicated to that cause over her lifetime. Her talents also include a history of modeling, yoga, and an interest in art and photography.

Meet Ardalan Minokadeh M.D., PH.D.

A Passion for Both Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology

Dr. Ardalan Minokadeh M.D., PH.D.

Ardalan Minokadeh, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained laser and cosmetic dermatologist. "Dr. Ardalan" joins our practice after completing the highly competitive and rigorous ASDS (American Society of Dermatologic Surgery) accredited fellowship. During the fellowship at Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills, Dr. Ardalan spent one year working one-on-one with hands-on training from mentors Drs. Derek Jones and Naissan Wesley.

Dr. Ardalan's passion for medicine started during his time at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. He was subsequently accepted into 1 of the 2 positions in the competitive tuition-free Physician Scientist Program at the Tulane University School of Medicine after which he obtained both his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Dr. Ardalan's Ph.D. research in neuropeptides was conducted at the University of California, San Diego, for which his research was supported by funding awarded to him from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Dr. Ardalan chose to stay in New Orleans, LA, at Tulane University to complete his dermatology residency training along with an internship in Internal Medicine. In his last year of training, he served as Chief Resident of Medical Education.

As a physician and scientist, Dr. Ardalan is committed to advancing the field of dermatology, and in this light, has authored many peer reviewed publications in leading medical journals, has authored several textbook chapters and presented scholarly lectures at national and international dermatology meetings. He has also served as an investigator for clinical trials in cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Ardalan is a member of many relevant organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
